Medical Training and Affiliations

I graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2001 and continued on at the same institution for a Residency in Family Medicine. After finishing as Chief Resident in 2004, I worked for four years with Kaiser Permanente in San Diego while my husband was completing a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, San Diego. Soon thereafter, we moved to the Monterey Peninsula where I worked in a private practice along with two wonderful physicians. Work brought my husband to the bay area and I took over my current practice in 2013. We absolutely love Los Gatos and plan to make this our permanent home.

Practice Style and Interests

The training I received at Loma Linda University was very much centered on the care of the whole patient, a philosophy that I have adopted and incorporate into my practice. To me this means not just treating the physical ailment at hand, but also the psychological, social, and spiritual concerns associated with these conditions. I am careful to be sensitive to my patients’ cultural imperatives as well as their goals of care in order to create a more meaningful and cohesive treatment plan.

I welcome the variety of patients I am able to see in my practice. I enjoy treating everyone from the adolescent worried about acne to the aging patient with multiple chronic diseases. I provide women’s health exams, physicals, immunizations, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, minor dermatologic procedures, depression evaluation as well as comprehensive general medical care for both males and females.

As your primary care physician, my office is considered your medical “home”. This means I work closely with specialists, the laboratory, radiology and hospitalists to coordinate your care. In today’s interconnected world, one is more educated than ever and I strive to help you navigate the complexities of what is read on the Internet, separating fact from fiction. I am open to exploring alternative and integrative health care options as long as we “first do no harm”.

I look forward to establishing a mutually trustworthy relationship with you as my patient. I wish to enable you to live a more healthful and meaningful life. Welcome to my practice!

Personal Interests

I have a young son and two daughters that bring infinite amounts of joy to my husband and me. We love to go camping, hiking, and generally enjoy nature. Quiet time with a good book and a cup of tea are always inviting and nothing can beat a bumper crop of heirloom tomatoes in the garden! I love exploring new places and take pleasure in the thrill of downhill skiing!

I am in the office Monday morning, all day Tuesday, Wednesday morning and all day Thursday. Dr. Davies or Dr. Shade will be available to treat acute problems when I am not in the office.
